Types of grinders, material choices
Before you select a grinder, you should know what types are available; for example, there are two-piece, three-piece and even four-piece grinders available.
Two-piece grinders have a top and bottom that are screwed together. You will find these grinders easy to use. They’re perfect if you’re looking for a compact and portable option for grinding your weed and hashish[1] (of the hard variety).
An additional plus of two-piece grinders is that they are easy to clean. The simple design means you don’t have to fuss with different compartments or sieves. You can simply twist the two parts apart and clean them. A two-piece grinder is usually recommended for beginners.
Three- and four-piece grinders
Prefer to use a separate container to collect your ground material as well? If so, three-piece grinders are the perfect solution. In addition to the top and bottom, these handy grinders also have a compartment to collect the material. In this way, you don’t have to put in extra effort to store your cannabis.
4-piece grinders go one step further. As well as the top, bottom and collection compartment, they also have an additional compartment with a mesh sieve. This mesh sieve separates the fine resin particles, from the coarser weed. This means you can later enjoy concentrated kief[2]. Perfect if you want to smoke a joint or blunt with this for an extra strong experience!
Material choices when choosing a good grinder
Regarding material choices, there are grinders available in different materials such as aluminum, plastic, stainless steel and wood. Aluminum grinders are durable, lightweight and easy to clean.
Stainless steel grinders also last a long time and often feature sharp teeth so grinding is very quick and easy. You can also find wooden and plastic grinders; the plastic versions are often cheaper, and you can tell by the material and quality. Our wooden grinder is especially beautiful, but make no mistake, this grinder is also very effective and inexpensive!
What to consider when choosing a grinder
To achieve even weed burning, choose a grinder with fine blades. The fineness of grind of your weed determines how fine or chunky you want it to be. If you prefer coarser weed instead, go for a grinder with coarser blades.
Similarly, consider the size of the grinder, especially if you plan to carry it with you in your bag or pocket. A compact grinder is portable and convenient on the go.
Last but not least is the price; the price of grinders can vary greatly. Be careful though, it is important not to use price as the only criterion, because sometimes a slightly more expensive grinder is of higher quality and lasts longer.
